Diagnostic Services

During your pet’s office visit, you can be assured that your furry friend will receive a through nose-to-tail office visit. If you have any concerns about your pet’s health, we do provide a host of diagnostic services to supplement your pet’s office visit, in order to quickly and accurately diagnose the problem. These services include:

Digital Radiography

Radiology, or x-ray, is an important diagnostic tool which allows our veterinarians to evaluate musculoskeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. Our digital imagining system produces clear images within seconds thereby reducing your pet’s stress and exposure to x-rays. Our digital system gives us the capability of emailing your pet’s x-rays to specialists or burning the images onto a disc for you to take home.

Ultrasound

This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs and to collect biopsies. Ultrasound is used to diagnose a variety of problems including: heart disease, liver disease and cancer, bladder stones and cancer, pregnancy, cystic ovaries, uterine infections, intestinal diseases.

Laboratory

Our in-house laboratory is a key in providing our patients with top-quality care. By obtaining the test results we need to accurately diagnose and treat your pet in a timely manner. Here are a few of the ways that pet patients benefit from it:

  • Parasite prevention: Heartworm and fecal tests are an important part of your pet’s overall wellness care. They enable our veterinarians to eradicate any parasites present and suggest appropriate prevention measures going forward.
  • Preoperative blood screening: Prior to any surgical procedure, it is essential to conduct a blood work profile to ensure that your pet is healthy enough to be placed under anesthesia.
  • Specialized blood tests: As pets age, they become prone to developing certain diseases. Our veterinarians will recommend blood tests as needed to check senior pets’ hormone levels and organ function.
  • Emergency care: When critical care is needed, our in-house laboratory can produce test results in 30 minutes or less, enabling our veterinarians to begin treatment right away.
